Stephanie's Memory Gardens
My friend Stephanie has created a small business in which she helps people create Memory Gardens to honor people who have died by planting Memory Gardens. She uses plants to symbolize their lives and finds items or "Doo-Dads" to place in the garden that remind one of the person. In one garden, a person who liked tea has a tea cup and saucer, in another, holleyhocks are planted, and baby breath and forget me not flowers. It's a lovely idea. She also has water fountains in her yard so if you sit on her screened porch, not only do you hear birds you hear running water, and in the little pond by her house you hear frogs. It's very peaceful. Today I took my Mom and a couple of her friends to see the Gardens for themselves. We had a nice time and you can see us standing in a nest that Stephanie and her husband Greg made for the purpose of fun and enjoyment - getting a photo taken in a nest. It's a great idea and makes one want to go home and start digging a space in one's yard to begin a memory garden on one's own.
